SHASE supports and accompanies, throughout the eastern township region anyone aged 12 and over who identifies fully or partially as a man and who has been the victim of abuse or sexual assault.
Sexual assault occurs if a person is touched in any way that interferes with their sexual integrity: this includes kissing, touching, intercourse and any other sexual activity without his/her consent. The abuser can use manipulation or threats to acheive their goal.
It is an act aimed at subjugating another person to their own desires by an abuse of power or by the use of force or threat. Types of sexual violence include:
Offensive physical touching
Sexual contact
Masturbatin
Fellatio
Anal intercourse
Child exploitation
Voyeurism
Exhibitionism
Sexualized language, etc.
